VERBUND is creating new gravel bank structures on the Danube

New bank structures are being created at suitable points in the storage areas of the Jochenstein and Aschach power plants as part of the project LIFE Blue Belt Danube Inn. Gravel banks will provide protected habitat for fish in the Inn. The necessary gravel is excavated in the vicinity of the power plants and moved elsewhere in the river. The goal is to upgrade the banks along the storage areas so that the entire Danube benefits from this measure.
