Fish pass Aschach

The fish pass at the VERBUND Danube power plant Aschach (Upper Austria) will be made passable to fish by LIFE Blue Belt Danube Inn.

Fish migration aid for the Aschach power station

Austria's second oldest Danube power plant, Aschach in Upper Austria, went into full operation in 1964. The dam height is 14.9 metres. This makes Aschach the Danube power plant with the highest head in Austria. This barrier is made passable by LIFE Blue Belt Danube Inn. The fish migration aid is being built as a bypass channel with a length of 1.7 kilometres in the vicinity of the power plant.

The Aschach power station can be seen from the downstream side on a beautiful summer's day. On the left you can see rocks and green trees above. In front of the power station you can see the greenish Danube flowing downstream. To the right of the power station you can see dark green forests and behind the power station you can see a bright blue sky.
